The country needs future leaders who understand the needs of its population and can provide for those needs through innovation, problem-solving, and collaboration. We’re on a mission to empower Somali youth through quality education and fuel them to improve their lives and build thriving communities."
The Mission To provide a rigorous Science, Technology, Engineering & Math (STEM) curriculum, accompanied by career training, environmental studies, stewardship, and community service—all rooted in innovative initiatives.

Mercer Island High School is proud to foster a meaningful and impactful partnership with the Bauro Academy in Somalia. Our commitment goes beyond financial contributions, extending to tangible support like our recent donation of desks, enhancing the learning environment for Bauro Academy students. We've also been able to host representatives from Bauro Academy in our classrooms, providing our students with firsthand accounts and allowing a better understanding of global citizenship and the power of education. This ongoing collaboration truly embodies our school's dedication to making a difference in the world.
